Deutsche Telekom and nexxar have been working together on annual and interim digital reports for more than five years. In 2024 the product portfolio has been enlarged with the HR Factbook, which is another online microsite for the company.
While the annual report and the interim reports of the following year always use the same design concept, the factbook’s landing page differs from the others, which increases its recognition value. All publications are adorned with animated shapes and key figures while keeping the balance between the two dominant colours of the microsites: magenta and white.

First impressions count
The landing page of the Annual Report 2023 shines in magenta, of course. With the animated shapes, key figures, and the CEO video it makes a powerful first impression with vivid page components.
Explainer video at its best
Business models, sustainability strategies and other corporate content can be rather complex to understand. How can companies make sure that their stakeholders get their message? Paradots, nexxar’s corporate start-up, developed an explainer video for the Deutsche Telekom’s HR factbook for this purpose: customised motion graphics and visual stories attract the attention of stakeholders and will stay in their minds for a long time.
Facts and figures spiced up
To facilitate users processing of complex data, nexxar prepared animated stock charts: they compare the performance of the Deutsche Telekom share on different stock exchanges and set it in relation to other telecommunications companies. Shareholders can see all the information they need at a glance.
Dynamic tables
For the visual type of users we have developed dynamic tables that do not only show the plain numeric data, they also show the development of KPIs in a line chart. Based on the chart’s curve the users can comprehend immediately whether the value has risen or fallen.
CEO letter page
The Annual Report 2023 also contains a special page dedicated to the letter of the Chair of the Board of Management putting Tim Höttges in the spotlight. The users are welcomed by a photo of the CEO and a highlighted quote. Important key figures are animated and stand out from the running text.
PDF from Online First approach
One of the biggest advantages of nexxar’s CMS system is that it can generate a fully functional PDF version of the online report, harmonising with its design via a click on a single button. The PDF report of Deutsche Telekom includes a clickable top navigation, which facilitates the browsing through the pages.
